BIOGRAPHY I am sure
a
lot of people are usually shocked to learn what I do when
they first meet me. I do, however, understand where they
are coming from. There aren't too many women who are into
more than 1 or 2 two extreme sports, much less all of the ones
that I am into. I guess I don't fit your average
extreme sports profile. But I don't know what else I
would do it I weren't falling, racing, jumping, flying,
or luging. I think I might shrivel up and
die if I weren't able to do what I love.
I think my passion for adventure and
excitement began in early childhood. My Dad always had
motorcycles and I remember jumping railroad tracks and whoops while riding on the back.
My father lived and breathed motorcycles. But it was my
mother who raised me and always taught me to go after anything
that I wanted and that there were no limits. I feel that I
inherited her strength and tenacity. Thank you, Mom! |

I have pushed the limits for as long as
I can remember. When I was 10 years old I used to ride
my horses as fast as I could through the fields with no tack
(saddle or bridle) whatsoever. We also used to gallop
our horses towards a rope swing and then grab it as we passed.
We held on for dear life as we were ripped from our running
horses' backs. The kid who had the highest rebound
without hitting the ground was the winner. Of
course, I suppose my first real taste was when I was 4 and my
pony took off down the street running through traffic with my
grandparents screaming and running after me. A few blocks
later, in tears, I proudly announced, "I stopped 'em Maw
Maw, I stopped em!"
Whether
it was jumping out in freefall from a huge oak tree from ship rope
swings to jumping trains to ride over tall bridges, we were
always up to something.
Yet, I didn't start riding motorcycles until I
was about 21 years old. I had never even operated a
motorcycle, scooter, or dirtbike for that matter until I
bought my first streetbike. I had ridden quads and
three-wheelers (yes! three-wheelers, haha!) but never anything
on two wheels other than a bicycle. I finally learned on my brand new Suzuki
Katana 600 and believe me, this is NOT the way to go. I
dropped it in the first few seconds and popped off a mirror. Oops. You live, you learn. My life
has not always been so straightforward. In fact, I
sometimes wonder how I've made it through many of my life experiences, extreme
sports aside. Yet, faced with adversity, I usually come out ahead, or at
the very least learn a lesson I can apply to the next chapter in my life. If I had to describe myself in
three words, I'd say that I am passionate, adaptable, and driven.
I am a bit of a 'wild horse' which can never be tamed and sometimes (okay, most
times) that works
against me. But you are who you are. Embrace it and find people who accept you
for who you really are--not what they want you to be. Because if you go
that route, it will be a struggle forever.
Anyway, I have
always found time to take that step over the edge just to see
how far the fall happens to be. It can be an
uncertain process, but for some reason I always find myself in
these situations. I often wonder if I make enough
serotonin on my own ;) I am always willing and
ready to either step, speed, or
dive off into the unknown.

Past Injuries:
- Fractured C-5 - BASE or skydiving, I don't know because
I did each within three days of each other, had hard openings in both and went
to the doctor with a fractured C-5, yay! I am assuming it was the first
hard opening with a Sabre1.
- Fractured T-6 and T-7, torn rotator cuff, fractures to
a few ribs, both collar bones, sternum, scapula - Motorcycle accident, hit at
a stop light from behind.
- Fractured Coccyx - Canopy collapse in BASE
- Fractured Tibia - Horseback riding, got kicked by
my mare while on my gelding. What are the odds?
- Fractured Ulna - Long story
- Fractured left hand - Another long story
- Broken right second toe - Stupidity
- Ground down patella (seriously), further injury to the
neck and back - Motorcycle accident, got hit by a Geo Metro (Embarrassing)
- Broken right thumb - Skydiving
- Two compressed discs - Who EVEN knows, related to prior
injuries
- Hip injury with ongoing pain - Highside off a quad with
no gear

set of leathers or not.
It happens.
